SCALE THE SUMMIT To Play Free Show At Hollywood's Musicians Institute

Houston progressive instrumentalists SCALE THE SUMMIT, whose new album (and Prosthetic Records debut) "Carving Desert Canyons" continues to receive critical acclaim, will perform an afternoon mini-concert at their alma mater, Musicians Institute, today (Friday, April 24). The event is free and open to the public. Later that night, the band will play again at the Knitting Factory as part of their tour with PROTEST THE HERO.

Though they now call Texas home, SCALE THE SUMMIT was founded in 2004 when guitarists Chris Letchford and Travis LeVrier met drummer Pat Skeffington while attending Musicians Institute in Hollywood. The group's self-released debut, "Monument", came out in 2007; the group signed with Prosthetic the following year and released the Tom Beaujour-produced "Carving Desert Canyons", hailed by All Music Guide as "one of the year's most distinctive heavy metal releases" this February.

"We're excited to go back where it all started," says guitarist Chris Letchford.

The Musicians Institute concert will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the school's Green Room Cafe, located at 6756 Hollywood Blvd.
